Application Description
One click on the map gives you access to world coordinates. In addition, Map Coordinates offers a complete set of tools, such as distance measurement, current GPS location, history / favorite locations, shared location location, location search or copying coordinates / addresses. You can switch between several coordinate types, such as decimal degrees, DMS (degrees, minutes, and seconds), or even special types, such as what3words, MGRS, GEOREF (WGRS), or UTM.
The application is designed to easily determine the coordinates and addresses of points on the map and share them with friends via SMS, email or social applications.
When you need to find a place, you can enter / insert the address / coordinates in the search field or enter each coordinate value one by one in its own field, using advanced search options. What3words, UTM, GEOREF (WGRS) and MGRS can only be searched using one search field.
The current GPS location is best taken when the mobile device is outdoors. GPS satellites are easy to find when there is no interference, such as buildings or clouds. Even if the device is in the room, the location can be accurately found through the Wi-Fi network, but only if the device is connected to this network.
The side drawer menu is used to navigate between different parts of the application, such as History / Favorites, but is also used to switch the map provider. Available map providers are Google Maps and Open Street Maps, each of which has a different type of map. A compass is also available in Open Street Maps.
Access to the settings is also possible from the side navigation box. There you have options for switching between existing types of coordinates, changing the visibility of the address bar, or you can turn on the distance measurement tool and the Elevation tool. Height displays the height of the selected location on the map.
Gpx and kml file types are supported with some limitations: only simple points are processed with gpx files and only Tags are processed with kml files.
